Shift Director- Spanish/English Bilingual

A New Leaf's Alice Peterson Residence and Dorothy Mitchell Residence are licensed and accredited 24-hour youth shelters for children that offer specialized case management for the purpose of family reunification.

The principle goal of these programs is to provide a safe and stable environment in which to foster the optimal growth and development of each child. Supporting objectives include improved physical health, improved education/vocation skill development and timely family reunification and/or release planning. 

A New Leaf is currently seeking a Spanish/English Bilingual Shift Director. 

Schedule: FT-  Wednesday - Friday, 1pm - 10pm and Saturday, 8am - 10pm

Pay: $15/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to): 
  • Provide consistent “line of sight” supervision for clients and ensure the safety of clients, staff and the physical plant. Assist with “wake up” call during weekend shifts.
  • Collaborate with team and with other programs to enhance and prioritize client/milieu activities and promote cost effectiveness.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff members, provide appropriate supervision and “structure” according to designated schedules to insure behavioral health standards are maintained. Promote camaraderie thru respectful and open communication, collaboration, team and accountability.
  • Provide supervision of the direct care workers in the day-to-day operation of the program. Assist designated BHPP’s in their professional growth and development. Actively attend and participate in various professional growth activities.
  • May assist or perform duties related to providing and/or monitoring client’s self-administration of prescribed medication. Maintain communication and perform tasks to assist in promoting the emotional health of clients (i.e. nutrition, etc.)
  • Provide varied verbal and physical crisis intervention and counseling.
  • Assist in completing formal evaluation/performance reviews for team members.
  • Receive Clinical Oversight as required by state law and A New Leaf policy and procedures. 
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:  
  • Demonstrate and provide strong communications skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Committed to teamwork and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Have proficiency with personal computers and applicable software programs.
  • Have the skills necessary to engage and work with others.
  • High school diploma or GED plus (2) two years of relevant work experience in human services and with population served or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a human services field required plus (1) one year of relevant work experience in human services. 
  • Must be Spanish/English bilingual. Bilingual skills must meet the agency standard and have the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and the ability to interpret and translate. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Needs current auto liability insurance and a clean 39-month motor vehicle record.
  • Have a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to pass various background checks in order to obtain one.
Due to state licensing requirements, applicants must be a minimum 21 years of age.

Pay Rate: $15/hr.
