After School- Behavioral Health Youth Care Workers- PT

A New Leaf's After School Program is a Title XIX funded service provided through A New Leaf. Using a strengths-based model, enrolled clients (ages 6-17 years) engage in structured activities. This program strives to improve the home, school and social functioning of our clients through a variety of planned and supervised activities with the goal of a successful transition of clients back to their community based after-school programs.

Our After School program is currently seeking to fill multiple part time Youth Care Worker positions with the East Valley After School Program.

Pay Rate: $13.00/hour

This is a part-time position that will work up to 29 hours per week with needed availability during the following days/hours: Monday-Friday, 1:30p - 8:30p and Saturday 9am - 3:30pm

Major areas of responsibility (including but not limited to):
  • Document (verbal/written) and submit significant and routine paperwork such as progress notes, daily activities and varied incident reports. 
  • Engage in family centered, strength-based treatment planning and coordination and report client needs to Child and Family Team.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and significant support systems.
  • Provide information, education and guidance to clients and support system members, advocacy and coordination of care.
  • Accompany clients to approved activities, model appropriate behaviors, serve as positive role model/mentor for the clients and provides minimal tutoring/help with homework.
  • Utilize Positive Behavioral Support methodology when planning/participating in the activities to support child/family specific treatment goals.
  • Follow prescribed treatment plans for children and show concern and caring for children in trouble.
  • Maintain accurate, through and current documentation of contact with clients/families.
  • Receive Clinical Oversight as required by state law and A New Leaf policy and procedures. 
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of six (6) weeks behavioral health experience or 2 college courses that are behaviroal health related required
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • A clean 39-month motor vehicle record and current auto liability insurance.
  • A Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card or be able to pass various background checks in order to obtain one.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of standard office equipment, be proficient with personal computers and applicable software programs.
  • Effectively communicate (verbal and written).
  • Due to licensing requirements, applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
